Last of the summer wine

September 2024 Time to update. I now live in Oxford near my daughter and her family. Life in Oxford often feels like living in a theme park. You just can’t decide what to do first second third etc. I have met many lovely people and joined many lovely groups amongst others an author’s group which has been hugely helpful, supportive and informative. We also have a website
www.colinwade.com/oxford-independent-authors-group.

I spent most of last years writing time pulling together a centenary book for Bigbury Golf Club. It was an honour to be asked to undertake but it was all-absorbing, as these projects can be. Now I’m back to independent living and enjoying working on a memoir. I’ve framed it in snapshots of memorable moments in my life, letting my instincts tell me what to include and exclude. Sometimes it is the trivial events in life which have the most impact, like the day my sister and I had our shopping bags stolen, or the day we walked on the hedgetops in the snow and had sugar sandwiches for our school lunch. Sometimes it’s the more meaningful and life-changing events which shout loudest to my instincts, demanding to be included. So I’ll update you as I go along!

The photo above is a taste of wonderful Oxford , I feel so lucky to live here. Devon is a fabulous county and I was sorry to leave but this city is winning my heart.

Here is a reminder of the scenic beauty of Devon which will always be an important part of my life too.
